From Left to Right: Jeff Schneider, Ryan Fitje, Scott Hover, and Chad Hansen

We believe the New Testament model for governing the local church involves a team of elders who shepherd and oversee the flock under Jesus Christ, our Chief Shepherd. This structure allows us to avoid three potential extremes in church governance: control by an outside hierarchy, a one-man dictatorship, and a congregational democracy that can sometimes empower immature believers.

We trust that God works through the prayerful intentions of elders—who are godly but imperfect men—to guide us in discerning His will and shaping the direction and policies of our church.

To ensure suitable candidates for leadership, a private nominating committee is appointed. This committee, representing the church body and consisting of no fewer than six individuals, meets regularly and diligently to assess potential candidates. After a thorough review of the men in the church over four months, this committee recommends individuals who are qualified, willing, and capable of serving as elders or deacons, depending on the church's needs. The Elders then vote on each nominated individual, with the final candidates presented to the church body for consideration.
